CSC & Amazon launch CSR project at Amazon Facility Centres

CSC (Common Services Centre) and Amazon India have joined hands to launch a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) project for the welfare of their warehouse workers. The project aims to enroll these workers in Ayushman Bharat Yojana and e-Shram Card Yojana.

Amazon India is one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world, with a significant presence in India. Its warehouse workers, who play a crucial role in ensuring that the company’s operations run smoothly, work in challenging conditions. They face a high risk of accidents and injuries while carrying out their duties. The company recognizes the importance of ensuring the welfare of its employees and has taken several initiatives to improve their lives.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a government-run health insurance scheme that aims to provide financial protection to vulnerable families in India. The scheme offers free medical treatment to beneficiaries for a range of illnesses and medical procedures. E-Shram Card Yojana, on the other hand, is a government initiative that provides social security benefits to workers in the unorganized sector. The scheme offers access to a range of welfare measures, including health insurance, pension, and life insurance.

Through this project, CSC and Amazon India aim to provide their warehouse workers with access to these schemes, which will help improve their overall health and well-being. The enrollment process will be carried out at Amazon’s facility centers across the country, making it easier for workers to sign up for these schemes.

The project is a significant step towards improving the lives of Amazon India’s warehouse workers. It demonstrates the company’s commitment to the welfare of its employees and the communities it operates in. The enrollment process will be carried out through CSC’s extensive network of Common Service Centres, which are spread across the country. This will ensure that workers in even the most remote areas of the country can benefit from the scheme.

The project will also help raise awareness about these schemes and their benefits among Amazon India’s warehouse workers. Many workers in the unorganized sector are unaware of the various welfare measures available to them. By enrolling them in these schemes, the project will help improve their knowledge about their rights and entitlements.

The project will also benefit the wider community. By enrolling workers in Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the scheme will help reduce the financial burden on vulnerable families in the event of a medical emergency. The e-Shram Card Yojana, on the other hand, will help provide social security benefits to workers, thereby improving their standard of living.

CSC has been instrumental in implementing several initiatives aimed at improving the lives of people in rural areas of the country. The organization’s extensive network of Common Service Centres has played a crucial role in providing access to various government schemes and services to people in remote areas. Through this project, CSC and Amazon India are taking their commitment to social welfare a step further.

In conclusion, the CSR project launched by CSC and Amazon India is a significant step towards improving the lives of warehouse workers in the country. By enrolling them in Ayushman Bharat Yojana and e-Shram Card Yojana, the project will provide them with access to healthcare and social security benefits. The project is a testament to Amazon India’s commitment to the welfare of its employees and the communities it operates in. It also demonstrates the crucial role that organizations like CSC play in implementing social welfare initiatives in the country.
